c) Beauty Sells – Short Version: Beauty brings emotional attachment and buyers pay more for that.
c) Beauty Sells – Long Version: When your home is for sale it should look its best. You can never undo a first impression so never allow potential buyers to see your home until it is as beautiful as possible and ready to be seen.
Potential buyers should be impressed before they get out of their car, as soon as they enter the home, as they move through the home and if there is a yard, as they enter the yard.
De-clutter, then de-clutter again. Clean, then clean again. There’s no such thing as too little clutter or too clean.
There’s also no such thing as too much light so I use the brightest bulbs I can safely put in all the fixtures.
Re-paint but focus on beauty not practicality. Use flat or low sheen wall paint, not semi-gloss. It looks better. Use colors that complement the home. If it’s a classic home, use classic colors, a modern home, use modern colors and so on. Pick the right hue. Kitchens should be bright and inviting, dens warm and cozy, offices and gym rooms cool and sharp.
I use landscaping like arbors, potted plants, bark, pavers, anything that works in visual harmony with the home to start or continue the beauty on the outside.
It’s all about the allure of the home, not the dressing. It’s as if someone said’ “Wow, that’s a beautiful shirt.” You would say thank you. If they said, “Wow, you look ten years younger.” You’d buy three more of those same shirts. That is exactly what my FREE MAKEOVER does.
