Commissions Explained

Commission rates are not governed by law but by individual company policy and are often negotiable.
It is currently a common practice for California real estate brokers listing a property for sale, to charge the seller a commission for selling their property, which they will share with the broker representing the buyer. This split of the commission is often 50-50 but that can vary, depending on what the listing agent wants and the seller agrees to. Commissions are typically: due and payable only upon the successful completion of a sale and paid from the proceeds of the sale.

The most common commission currently charged a California property owner to sell their property is 5%. That represents 5% of the total sale price of the property. Example, if the property sells for $600,000 the commission would be $30,000. That sum would be split between the buyer’s broker and agent, the seller’s broker and agent.

At New Standard Realty, I charge less.

The following are large discounts, therefore I am offering them for a limited time.
If you are selling the home you live in, I charge 4.5% total commission, of which I will give a full 2.5% to the broker representing the buyer and 2% to New Standard Realty. If you are senior 65 years or older, I will further lower the commission to 3.95% total, of which I will give a full 2.5% of that to the broker representing the buyer and 1.45% to New Standard Realty. Though my commissions are lower, the service I offer is top-notch and without compromise. Every client I have ever worked with will testify to this. I always get my clients top dollar.
If you are selling a tenant occupied or multi unit property, I charge 5% total commission, of which I will give a full 2.5% of that to the broker representing the buyer and 2.5% to New Standard Realty. If you are a senior 65 years or older, I will further lower the commission to 4.5% total, of which I will give a full 2.5% of that to the broker representing the buyer and 2% to New Standard Realty. Again, though my commissions are lower the service I offer is top-notch and without compromise. Every client I’ve ever worked with will testify to this. I always get my clients top dollar.
